@Buck - make sure you try <a href="http://hookturns.com/2009/01/29/mamanee-thai-restaurant-collingwood/" rel="nofollow">Mamanee</a> in Collingwood. At last I have found somewhere almost as good and cheap as Thaila Thai.

Just ate takeaway from their 'brother' restaurant tonight - Warwick Thai in Sydney Road. I'm not sure of the real the connection, stories vary depending on who you talk to as to whether they are owned by the same person, or used to be owned by the same person, or the chefs are brothers... who knows - but the prices, menus etc are pretty much identical. So are the looooong waits and intensely noisy/busy restaurant experience at both. If the food wasn't so far ahead of any other Thai place around I'm sure we'd never bother, but its just too good to pass up! Thaila Thai and Warwick Thai are the best!

Thanks for the tip! Always on the lookout for cheap Thai that is a cut above the average - so much harder to find here than in Sydney :)
