It may be a stretch to say that Healesville is part of Melbourne, but according to Wikipedia it is (and Wikipedia is never wrong). That being the case, I think Giant Steps serves the best pizza in Melbourne. The crusts are thin and chewy, and the ingredients used are all excellent quality. For example, the tomato sauce used on many of the pizzas is made from canned San Marzano tomatoes (which are also available to buy). While you’re there, pick up a loaf or two of the fantastic bread and some pastries.

Friday, December 26th, 2008Even good restaurants make mistake. Only good restaurants know how to deal with mistakes. Il Bacaro is a good restaurant. The two rare steaks ordered at our table came out, at best, medium. They were sent back of course, and we were offered something to tide us over while the rest of our table enjoyed their mains.
Then, when the replacement steaks (perfectly cooked this time) were served, they also came with replacements for the sides we had ordered. It was a nice touch, particularly as the spinach was so delicious, and enough to help us forget the original mistake.
