Mary, I’m glad you’ve had good food when you’ve been to Pope Joan. Mine, unfortunately, was a bit of a mixed bag. And I know a number of people that have had a similar experience.

I hadn’t touched the dish before I photographed it, but I agree it’s not a great photo (taken with an iPhone).

Hi,

I’ve been to the Pope Joan on a number of occasions and have been very satisfied with the food received. I too ordered the meal you photographed and i don’t recall it looking at all like that? You have done a great job of ruining a well presented dish.

It’s rather sad that just anyone can jump online and critique a cafe these days. Clearly you have no idea what your talking about so please leave it to others that do!.

Prices here seem to have increased substantially. When I went last week, most were in the $20-25 range.

You can buy it from Cafe Ecco located at 8 Nicholson street East Melbourne, They only have the 300 + 500ml bottles.

I like Sunzest, but they’re a bit hard to come by. I looked locally and found ‘Drink More Juice’ juice from Eat More Fruit (http://www.eatmorefruit.com.au/) in South Melbourne Market that’s even better (it isn’t pulp-free). It doesn’t have a nutritional label, but regulations says it should be available when asked so I’ll ask next time. At $6.50 for 2l bottle, it’s $1 more expensive and they don’t label it organic.

I think the label of Sunzest juice is misleading too- its lists that it is 100% organic juice then has a logo and a big gap then lists preservative potassium sorbate.. this is annoying and i won’t be buying their products again.. why waste a perfectly good organic juice by putting nasty chemicals in it?
